About Dr. Caitlin Gilmartin

As a certified school psychologist and licensed behavioral specialist in Pennsylvania, additionally I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have years of practicing a variety of evidence-based approaches with persons ranging from preschool age to older adults.

I utilize a strengths-based and solution-focused approach for each situation to help others expand their self-knowledge and quality of life. The human experience is unique for each of us yet shared by all of us. My collaborative approach utilizes this lens.

My areas of specialization include executive functions, autism spectrum disorders, mental health and wellness, and psychoeducational assessments. I am very interested in using the psychoeducational assessment process to support treatment through medical providers, as well as ongoing therapeutic treatment.

In addition, as an actively practicing school psychologist, I am skilled in the “language” of schools and can provide a truly independent evaluation from multiple angles, emphasizing the whole person and a solution-oriented approach.

In working with children and teens, I enjoy using a creative approach in teaching skills through evidence-based therapies. I find that helping children and teens to overcome anxiety and depression works so much better when they are allowed to use their imagination, creativity, and personal interests to learn important coping skills.

I have worked in several settings in the community, including early intervention, schools, community agencies, mental health centers, and private practice. I maintained teaching relationships with Camden County College, Rowan University, and Arizona State University to spread the love of professional psychology to undergraduate students and have provided training to various community stakeholder groups on topics including autism spectrum disorders, suicide prevention and intervention, and executive functions.

My personal interests include traveling, Luke (my dog), and spending time with family. When I am not in the office, you might find me volunteering at Friendship Circle or engaged in charity fundraising events. I am always happy to provide additional information on my interests and professional experiences at our initial meeting.
