About Dr. Katherine Palladino

Since 2007, I have worked in public, parochial, and charter schools as a school psychologist. My professional positions in these various settings provided experience working with students with disabilities including Autism, ADHD, Executive Functioning deficits, Learning Disorders (including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and language-based learning disorders), brain injuries, concussions, social-emotional and behavioral problems, and low-incidence disabilities.

My experiences showed me the need for meaningful, strengths-driven assessments to help identify what will help a student, as well as the need for evidence-based therapy services to support social-emotional wellness.

This led me to pursue additional training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and advanced assessment experience through my doctorate degree program at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

As an evaluator, I provide clients with comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to address their presenting concerns. I am proficient in an extensive repertoire of assessment tools to assess cognitive, academic, social-emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and neuropsychological functioning. I believe in tailoring assessments to identify not only a client’s needs, but their strengths as well so that effective interventions are employed to assist the client.

Empowering and collaborating with clients through the therapeutic process is important to me. When faced with life’s challenges, understanding the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can lead to healthier coping strategies, better stress management, and improved relationships with yourself and others. Learning how to recognize, respond, and overcome challenges makes problems seem like a hurdle, rather than a wall, that you can overcome.

I use evidence-based strategies and solutions-focused approaches to assist children and teens with navigating anxiety, improving social skills, managing stress, developing problem-solving skills, and improving self-esteem. I strive to create a warm and accepting environment that encourages acceptance and resiliency throughout the therapeutic process.

Through my work as a school psychologist and private practitioner, I have given presentations at local, state, and national conferences as well as local school districts. These presentations covered a variety of topics to include the following: dyslexia, school refusal, suicide prevention, executive functions, trauma-informed classrooms, and school-based problem-solving teams. Additionally, I have taught assessment courses to prospective school psychology graduate students.

My personal interests include cooking, kayaking, and spending time with my family. I am always happy to provide additional information on my interests and professional experiences at our initial meeting.
